France Coast - Avranches to the Loire Valley

This is typical of the houses around Larmor Beach. We started noticing the wooden shutters on the windows of houses as soon as we entered France. They do actually shut them at night so they are not just ornamental. I guess it keeps the cold and noise out. Houses are VERY close to the roads and to each other.
